Recently the U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) has become one of the most iconic facilities — not only in Charlotte — but in North Carolina. Established in 2006, the center is non-profit and was designed to be a training facility for numerous ‘outdoorsy’ sports including: whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, slalom, rock climbing, bouldering, hiking, canopy tours, mountain biking, and more. The USNWC is devoted to promoting active lifestyles.
The USNWC holds numerous competitions throughout the year. Competitions include trail running, ultra-marathons, and mountain biking to mention just a few.
The USNWC also offers relaxing events for those who are less inclined for adventures or sports. There is live music, festivals, dining opportunities, and more.
The USNWC schedule changes all the time. If you’re interested in booking a visit you should check out their daily activity schedule first.
Raft reservations are not required. However, to be guaranteed a specific time slot for your rafting adventure a reservation should be made in advance. Reservations have priority and then trips are on a first come first serve basis.
An all inclusive package for 1 full year costs: Youth (9 years & under) $169 and Adults (10 years & up) $199. This AllSport Season Pass gives visitors unlimited access to enjoy all the activities that the USNWC offers.
Their full list of passes can be found on their website’s buy online page.
